Learn to Fly the Classic Way
Blue Collar Aviation Flight Training
There’s a reason the 1946 Piper J-3 Cub is one of the most legendary training aircraft ever built. Generations of pilots learned to fly in a Cub, developing the stick-and-rudder skills, coordination, and visual flying techniques that form the foundation of safe and confident flying.
Today’s training aircraft often incorporate advanced avionics and modern technology that help prepare pilots for today’s airspace and aircraft. The Piper J-3 Cub takes a different approach, emphasizing the fundamentals of aircraft control through outside visual references, proper attitude flying, coordination, and energy management. Many experienced aviators believe these core skills provide an exceptional foundation for a lifetime of safe flying.
At Blue Collar Aviation, instruction is personalized and hands-on. Initial training focuses on developing strong fundamentals, including aircraft control, takeoffs and landings, slow flight, stalls, and the habits that create safe and confident pilots.
Once these basic skills have been mastered and a tailwheel endorsement has been earned, students can transition to a more modern aircraft to complete the remainder of their flight training if desired.
