KidsVenture was definitely one of the high points of our trip to Oshkosh. They had a great setup for kids of all ages, my son Logan, age 9 was able to build a wing rib, carve a prop, drill & rivet a metal name badge, design aircraft on a computer, build and fly models, and much more.
There were tons of kids learning about aviation and having a great time.

Trikefest was a blowout for Friday and Saturday. I understand Sunday was good but I had to go. Although not well attended because of high winds and weather, I thought these would be interesting for the website or the CIA website.

Folks,

Sunday morning Tabor, John, Tom and I did a practice rally route and it worked great!
We planned our routes....CI -Pepperell-Brookline, NH-CI with charts, E6B and
plotter. Then we flew them with just compass and chart. We predicted our
flight time and both got back within a couple of minutes of predicted time.
Next rally we will predict fuel usage. We made it back just as the wind was
picking up.....interesting!!

We are going to schedule rallys this season and hope to have everyone at CI and
surrounding area participate at some time. Its a great cross country exercise
and gets pretty competitive.

Stay tuned,

Tim
